Graphics eMotion was invited by the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal to add a multisensory dimension to the Pompeii exhibition with audiovisual projections. The viewer experiences a roman aqueduct coming to life, followed by an animated fresco of a mystical garden with a white-on-black aesthetic and a serene soundtrack that plunges the viewer into a sense of a gentle and peaceful life. The climax of the journey is the contrast between this calming atmosphere and the volcanic immersive experience in the next room where the eruption freezes life in the ashes.
GeM was happy to contribute to an exhibition that includes over 220 archaeological artefacts including bodies that express nearly two thousand years later the distress and terror of the moment. It enriches the experience of the visitors to the most important exhibition ever presented about Pompeii in Quebec.
